check this site out! its amazing what artistic people can do. sent to me by my colleague. thanks to her, we are appreciating little people more. lol. this is like sooooooo artsy-fartsy!

this link is also on my Links shortcut on your right.

enjoy littlest one!

so free issit?

this is what happens when i dont have internet connection... in the office! LOL! Mac users should know what this is... for those who doesnt, this is the DOCK. you can place your applications here for easier access, more like a shortcut. so... i decided to open all my applications in the dock ONLY; just to know how will my computer run after that.

L-R: Finder, Mail, Safari, Dashboard, Safari, Firefox, iTunes, iMovie HD, iPhoto, DVD Player, Quicktime, Real Player, Windows Movie Player, MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, ImageReady, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Acrobat, Toast Titanium, System Preferences, Messenger, Cyberduck, Sherlock, TextEdit, Preview, Trash

THE RESULT: SLOWWWWWW AS HELLLLLLLL!

even to load up all the applications were slow. at first, i opened each application at the same time. that was still alright, only until i decided to open up 4 adobe softwares at the same time and man, it took ages! well, just so you know, i am using a Power Mac G4 with ALMOST 1gb of RAM. i can imagine opening all of it in a Mac Pro G5 with 4gb of RAM. anyone tried? pls let me know.

anyway, back to work!

boredom is challenging...

flu bug

i am a proud victim of sinus. ok, sounds wrong. well, yes, i have sinus, every morning... blowing my brains out through my nose. but i think its getting better these days compare to my younger years. im here to talk about INFLUENZA, better known as the FLU. i have sensitive nose, and any sign of dust will set up my nose for a blast to the past! non-stop sneezing of course. therefore, i cant do many house chores; fan cleaning, sweeping, moving furnitures, etc... hahaha! ok, the main reason i wanna talk about this is i did something stupid... i was suppose to say i came across this thing... but i am too honest. so yea... check out the pictures...

this door can be found at Centrepoint, Bandar Utama (i try to make a living here)... i guess it was specially designed for ppl like me... influenza infected ppl. hey, they even provide a tissue!!

p/s- dont be shock, its nothing new.

yes sir... i use the meter...

well, i have been driving around the whole day today... and later on as well...

firstly, picked up my uncle (who came from Ipoh by bus) from Puduraya... Federal Highway was really good! smooth as silk.... like Thai Airways. anyway, was caught up in a crawl at the exit to Fed H/way outside Sunway. wasted 10 minutes there. then my uncle called, he has reached Pudu! dammit. zoom zoom zoom... all the way to Puduraya, great roads Samy! then this idiot was driving like 60 km/h on the fast lane... swerving a little to the right as if it was gonna switch lanes... then came back on. bloody hell! pissed off... cut that Vios on the left... then the Mini behind me was flashing like a true flasher he/she is. but i couldnt be bothered what happened after that. zoom zoom zoom... Puduraya... uncle was waiting at Swiss Garden Hotel, oppo Tung SHin Hopsital. great advice for all... next time, if you were to pick someone up from Puduraya, ask them to take a walk to Swiss Garden Hotel, on the same stretch. they have a taxi stand to sit or heck, just go into the lobby if they want. then it was roughly 70km/h all the way to Selayang Hospital. my uncle came down all the way by bus just to visit his bro-in-law aka my uncle-in-law? hahaah. ok... im not gonna go into details what happened to him. but simply, its serious.

stayed for almost 2 hours, then we left... and now, back to Puduraya. my uncle was here for a day trip, he came alone. just as we were walking down the corridor aisles, it was RAINING!... HEAVILY!! goodness! no choice... it was starting to flood on the highway! thank God it wasnt jammed. moving... slowly, roughly 50 km/h. whilst driving, i was thinking... ok... whats the fastest way to Puduraya... there are tonnes of ways to reach my destination... but i was thinking... a lot! decided to use Mahameru link up to Fed H/way, wanted to goto Puduraya through Bukit Aman. dammit... ended up the opposite direction! shyt! next thing i know i ended up at Dataran Merdeka! crapp! next, in Leboh Pudu! toot me sideways! massive traffic and my uncle decided to walk to Puduraya. told him the directions and i guess he managed to find his way there. thank God for that! oh wait... the meter is still running!!!

after dropping my uncle off, the rain have already cooled down. it was blowing the direction of PJ now. drove my arse to Sunway, to have a hair cut! oh yea... i cutted my hair (indian accent) ok, not funny, yea, i cut my hair and headed home after that. was drizzling and in the end, didnt really rain. great! showered, had dinner and here i am now... blogging. gonna leave the house soon as i will be off to pick me gf up at LCCT. shes BACK! hahahaha! GLAD! ok not soon but NOW! gotta ciao now.

gonna restart the meter again...

Change, We Have

Barack Obama is the newly elected President of the United States of America. final count shows that Obama won by almost half with 349 against John McCain's 162. introducing to all, USA's first ever 'black' President.

personally, i am glad. a change is what they need, and the change is what they have now. lets see how well he runs the country, and how much influence he can make for a better world.

" America is no longer the power it was. It can still lead, but it is no longer in a position to dictate to the wider world "

watch Obama's speech... literally fantastic. <watch here>

farewell to shutterpoint

my account has finally ended... tomorrow actually. anyway, Shutterpoint <www.shutterpoint.com> has served me well. thanks to all those who rated my pictures... it was an eye-opening to the world of photography to me. not only that i know how ppl think and see my pictures, i get to learn that not what the owner likes is liked by others. it is true that a picture is worth a thousand words.

as a summary, i've got a total of 45 ratings and also 3,122 views in the past 6 months with a total of 50 pictures. well, from now on, i will be shifting over to Flickr <www.flickr.com> to publish me pictures. i also learnt that one should learn to crawl first before running... and yes, im going back to basics. so please do check out my flickr site <www.flickr.com/edmundlou> for more (much more) pictures. it is certainly open to the public and media for takings, just so to let me know and acknowledge me pictures.

going green!

attended the Canon Goes Green <www.canongoesgreen.com> tree planting project on the 19th of October and i definitely had a blast! plant site was at Padang Kota Damansara, it was something like my first time planting a tree (dont really remember the past) and it was fantastic! was there with me gf... and we were almost late. the time was from 7.30am till 1.30pm but planting only starts at 9am. just as we reached... they started to head out to the planting site. just in time i might add. altogether, i planted 5 plants... and the plant i planted is called the Meranti... and i think its one of those 'balak' trees. one helluva experience for me surely. there were many ppl there as well, loads of families, teenagers and also adults. we were entertained by Zainal Abidin, local singer who sang the infamous song "Hijau" after the planting session. VIPs too planted... at a corner, with ribbons tied on their shovels. not for us... i decided to use me hands... faster for sure. besides, there were limited mini cute shovels. well, at least i got my hands dirrty for a reason... MOTHER NATURE.

Jo had a great time as well, one of her plants is called "Momo"... i think. lol. i didnt name me plants though... just knowing i planted it is good enough for me. organizers said that we will be planting 2,500 plants that morning but i doubt all were planted. according to them, many volunteers didnt turn up for the planting and that i think made a gap of unplanted trees. well, you dont only need to plant trees, but most importantly is to dispose of garbage PROPERLY! recyclable items should be RECYCLED and come on, the money shouldnt be taken into consideration.. Global warming is hitting earth hard... so...

do your part...

and others will.

well, i know its a far off dream but hey, no harm trying if you are really good at what you do right?

devastated, i am...

Massa still believes he can do it. (photo courtesy of formula1.com)

It was a heartbreaking 15 seconds for Felipe Massa as his joy turned to despair after knowing that Timo Glock has let Sebastien Vettel and eventual winner Lewis Hamilton pass him at the final corner of the Brazilian GP. in the pictures of the TV, they showed both Massa and Hamilton camps jumping for joy after both cars have crossed the finish line but when the news came up, the faces on Massa camp supporters turned from what we know as joy, to unbelievable despair. if Hamilton didn't move up a spot, the total points from both drivers will be tied, BUT Massa will win it as he has more victories throughout the season compared to Hamilton.

the Brazilian GP was no short of drama; coming from the drivers and also the weather. it can be summed up that it was raining at the beginning and the end of the race. and in between, saw drivers making awesome and crazy maneuvers. it was a sad farewell for David Coulthard as he was bundled out in the first 100s of kilometers into the race. Sebastien Vettel at one point thought he could have bundled out Hamilton's championship chances after Robert Kubica's out-of-his-mind overtaking move, cutting pass Vettel and also Hamilton, which eventually forced Hamilton to make a mistake going wide at the corner. by the way, Kubica was a lap down from the front runners he overtook... that's why i said out-of-his-mind. =O)

all in all, Massa accepted the defeat like a professional and mature driver. Hamilton on the other hand would thank his lucky stars for Glock's decision of not pitting when supposed to. i have to admit, it was a fantastic race, Massa leading from start to end from P1, out-of-this-world maneuvers and also a finale too grand to be missed.

  7. Heikki Kovalainen 53
  8. Sebastian Vettel 35
  9. Jarno Trulli 31

  6. STR-Ferrari 39
  7. Red Bull-Renault 29
  8. Williams-Toyota 26
  9. Honda 14
  10. Force India-Ferrari 0

would have karma played its part? remember, Kimi Raikkonen won the championship in 2007 by a point from Lewis. i guess its true, what comes around, does come around.

now everyone can b**ch

like my previous post, i sent my gf to LCCT this morning and my God it was early!... arrived around 6.20am. anyway, thats not the thing... the story was... as i walked in from the car park (i dropped her off first as she was kinda late), i went straight into the PASSENGERS ONLY area... yup there was a sign but being Malaysians (true Malaysian), we couldnt care less... and walked towards the check-in counter she was at with her boss (AGAIN, passengers only.)

so, there they are waiting in line... in front of them was a single lone traveler and in front of that traveler was 2 guys with loads of luggage (looks like musical instruments-drum set prolly) they were taking a long time... longggggg.... so, when they are done... they left and the AA ground staff just yelled out "I.C. PLEASE!..." the traveler went and she told him to proceed to counter 16 (i think, and we were at counter 32, i think). so he wanders off and for me gf and her boss, she said the same thing.... very RUDELY! with her annoyed face i may add. so, we gestured "FINE!"...

proceeded to the mentioned counter... the 2 guys were there! what?!? thought they were done and dusted. cis! anyway, they left and the lone traveler checked-in but before being questioned by the AA staff... i think they asked why are we so late and so we answered "we were waiting so long in line for the two fellas just now". gf's boss told them off straight and the AA staff made calls and pagings over their walkie-talkie. only then they can check us in. dicks! wait... he told us to move to counter 14 (i think) to check-in ... so we went. check-in themselves, the luggages were tagged and then were told again to go back to the previous counter (counter 16, i think). only then we can placed the luggages on the belt. what?!??!

what happened to "NO FRILLS FLYING" ??

if i have 10 luggages and can afford to pay for the excess baggage, going through this process... PURE DISAPPOINTMENT! well, can we say much more?... when its a LOW COST TERMINAL and flying on CHEAP TICKETS.

sent them off, said best wishes and i had McD's Breakie. oh yeah... life...! (miss ya dear!)

ciao cin ciao!

pssst... this AA luggage helper (i think) was sitting on the end of the conveyor belt for the luggages... he tried to reach out to the baggages but hit his head on the shutters... thought nobody saw his stupidity as he was looking northsoutheastwest... collected his pride and acted like normal. HAH! FOOL! that made my day at the airport!
